During 2019,  Beecatur spearheaded a number of new programs and events designed to educate city residents about the importance of bees and other beneficial insect species, and to demonstrate how Decaturites can play an active role in protecting them. We presented programming in the city schools and at area garden clubs and community events; staged the city's first National Pollinator Week festival on the square; broke ground on a second pollinator garden; participated in Georgia's first-ever Pollinator Census; advocated for alternatives to backyard mosquito spraying in our community; and much more!
